De-ionized Water

Disinfect DI systems efficiently and reuse DI water

De-ionized (DI) water is used in a number of application areas, from the cleaning of laboratory equipment to the rinsing and cleaning in micro fabrication processes. The problem with DI water is that it is not possible to use traditional disinfectants as this compromises the quality of the water. Ozone treatment offers a solution to this problem.

Ozone treatment of DI water occurs in the sanitation of the DI system. Ozone is dissolved in the DI and provides a service that rids the system of bacteria within a few hours, and can be scrubbed from the system almost as quickly. The use of ozone means that there is a reduced level of colony forming units (CFU count), and a controlled level of Total Organic Compounds (TOC). It also means that the DI water is able to be used more than once, providing both economic and environmental advantages.
