Med COD m\u00e4ts med andra ord syrebehovet i vattnet vid total oxidation av vatteninneh\u00e5llet och ger d\u00e4rf\u00f6r en god indikation p\u00e5 t ex m\u00e4ngden organiskt material som vattnet inneh\u00e5ller. Det \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r ett effektivt verktyg f\u00f6r att skapa sig en bild av milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan vid eventuelt utsl\u00e4pp av exempelvis avloppsvatten i milj\u00f6n.<\/p>\n<p class=\"preamble\">BOD, kort f\u00f6r \u201dBiological Oxygen Demand\u201d, m\u00e4ter ocks\u00e5 syrebehovet i vattnet men baserar syrebehovet p\u00e5 den m\u00e4ngd syre som f\u00f6rbrukas d\u00e5 mikroorganismer st\u00e5r f\u00f6r oxidationsprocessen (ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r ett kemiskt oxidationsmedel som i fallet med COD-m\u00e5ttet).<\/p>\n<p>BOD-v\u00e4rdet p\u00e5 ett typiskt vatten \u00e4r vanligtvis l\u00e4gre \u00e4n COD-v\u00e4rdet beroende p\u00e5 att allt COD ofta inte \u00e4r helt biologiskt oxiderbart.\u00a0Typiska COD-v\u00e4rden f\u00f6r industriella avloppsvatten varierar fr\u00e5n 200 \u2013 40 000 mg\/L. Typiska COD-v\u00e4rden f\u00f6r kommunalt avloppsvatten ligger p\u00e5 ca 100 \u2013 450 mg\/L. Se kommande avsnitt f\u00f6r en mer detaljerad beskrivning.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"container-fluid editor_content content content--narrow\">\n    <div class=\"row\">\n        <div class=\"col-12 editor_content\">\n            <h3>Biologiskt icke-nedbrytbart COD<\/h3>\n<p>Denna typ av COD kan av olika anledningar inte brytas ned biologiskt och sl\u00e4pps d\u00e4rf\u00f6r igenom det biologiska steget i reningsverk vilket leder till utsl\u00e4pp och spridning i den akvatiska milj\u00f6n. Det kan t.ex. r\u00f6ra sig om l\u00e4kemedel som diklofenak, paracetamol, eller propofol. Andra exempel \u00e4r kemiskt stabila bek\u00e4mpningsmedel, industriella processkemikalier (som halogenerade organiska \u00e4mnen), eller hormoner. Den sv\u00e5rnedbrytbara kategorin best\u00e5r typiskt sett av sv\u00e5rl\u00f6sliga partiklar, kolloider eller mer komplexa strukturer (t ex polymera material). Det ger m\u00f6jligheten att bryta ned\/oxidera\/deaktivera potentiellt farliga kemiska \u00e4mnen utan att addera mer till vattnet \u00e4n syreatomer som tagits direkt fr\u00e5n luften vi andas. Eventuella \u00e5terst\u00e5ende m\u00e4ngder ozon som inte konsumeras under behandlingen \u00e5terg\u00e5r till syrgas, naturligt eller genom en katalyserad process. Mer detaljerad information kan l\u00e4sas p\u00e5 f\u00f6ljande <a href=\"https:\/\/ozonetech.com\/sv\/om-ozon\/\">sida<\/a>. I f\u00f6ljande avsnitt beskrivs n\u00e5gra av alla de m\u00f6jligheter som man kan dra nytta av med ozonbaserade behandlingsmetoder f\u00f6r att behandla organiska \u00e4mnen i olika typer av avloppsvatten.<\/p>\n<h3>Avancerade oxidationsprocesser (AOP) med ozon<\/h3>\n<p>AOP-processer anv\u00e4nder sig av mycket reaktiva kortlivade \u00e4mnen kallade radikaler f\u00f6r att bryta ned s\u00e4rskilt sv\u00e5rnedbrytbara \u00e4mnen. Dessa radikaler \u00e4r starkare oxidationsmedel \u00e4n t ex ozon och reaktionshastigheten \u00e4r ca en miljon g\u00e5nger snabbare. Detta leder till snabbare reaktionstider, kortare processer och i slut\u00e4ndan mer kompakt processutrustning och effektivare nedbrytningsprocesser. AOP kan \u00e4ven anv\u00e4ndas f\u00f6r att n\u00e5 total oxidation d\u00e5 renhetskravet \u00e4r s\u00e4rskilt h\u00f6gt.
